Running for fitness and charity with your family members, friends and neighbours, without pressure, yet with a chance to achieve an award, is really fun. This year, the money collected from the Fun Run goes to upgrading the children's playground equipment downtown.
As always, participants could receive a branded Fun Run t-shirt at the early registration a week or two in advance, which saw many participants take advantage. Despite the rainy weather, the run today attracted 115 people, including even the youngest runners and the head of the Knightsbridge school, Mr. Alexander. The symbolic donation of 3 euro for kids (up to 15 yeard old) and 7 euro for adults raised over 850 euro.
There were two races in the Fun Run, both starting and finishing near the Knightsbridge school. A 2km race, which is genuinely a fun run, had no timing and no obligation for the participants - meaning participants in this race could enjoy a morning walk with their kids through the beautiful town quay and park area. The 5km race was a competitive race for those looking for more significant achievements.
