The 2018 season will be remembered for the first festival of classical music romantically named 'Mediterranean Notes'. There was nothing comparable to the quality of content offered by this new and promising event in Montenegro until now. The brilliant concept of gathering famous modern classical performers at the most prominent yet not overcrowded part of the Montenegrin coast is expected to attract a large audience from all over Europe.
A series of five concerts will start on World Music Day, 21 June, and last until 28 June in several appropriate locations around the town such as the indoor and open halls of the Cultural Center and Porto Montenegro Village. The gala concert named Vive Mozart! with the participation of Montenegrin Symphony Orchestra, and the 1st prize winner of the Queen Elisabeth Competition violinist Baiba Skride, is organized on 23 June.
Among the names of outstanding festival participants from Spain, Croatia, Poland, Serbia, Romania and other countries is passionate musician and professor of violin at the Royal College of Music in London, Daniel Rowland, who will perform Mendelssohn and Glinka at the closing concert at the Cultural Center Grand Hall.
The choice of compositions and combinations of the most talented musicians presented in the festival program will satisfy, without a doubt, the most demanding audience.
