This is possible through the manifestation “A Weekend in Titograd” organized by the project’s author Ljubo Jovovic and the Secretary for Culture and Sport of the capital.
The manifestation aims to remind us of the old times throughout an active retrospective of Podgorica by organizing different events and models of cultural places in Titograd.
Biljana Scepanovic from Podgorica said that they would take citizens back to the old square in Podgorica and the restaurant “Radovce” to help them remember where they used to hang out for a coffee or beer.
“We have been here for a week to help the organizers to bring back the spirit of old Titograd, to bring back the life in things that were here before and now they are gone”, said Scepanovic.
The citizens will be able to buy domestic savory and sweet pastries produced by a bakery in Zabjelo, which will be made according to the original recipes and cakes from the pastry shop “Dijana”.
“These will be pastries with jam or cheese, bagels with sesame seeds… We will also have the ones with cream, although these were not so popular back then. Perhaps the only food in town with the right to be included as healthy food is also on display, and these are small flatbreads – simiti," said Scepanovic.
She said that the cookies people from Titograd used to eat as children such as cubes, ishlers, round bombs, and paratroopers can be bought for 1,40 euro and pastries for 40 cents.
“The prices are symbolic, in order to help and sustain the manifestation”, said Scepanovic.
The citizens can have a look at the photos of the barber shops in Titograd and what school classrooms used to look like back then.
