December 22, 2019 - Christmas gingerbread cookies are one of the delicacies that, as we prepare them, bring a festive mood to our home. Adding colors and taste, we are glad that gingerbread cookies need to be prepared a few days in advance, so they can soften before we use them to decorate the Christmas table. The smell of cinnamon, cloves, nuts, and ginger fill the house, and one thing is certain - it's Christmas time!
So, how do we make gingerbread cookies? We decided to share our tried-and-true recipe with you. Of course, the decoration is what will make your gingerbread special, but above all, here's what you need to know.
Christmas gingerbread cookies
300 g flour
100 g of melted butter
One egg
100 g of sugar
1 tbsp of vanillin sugar
One bag of baking powder
One teaspoon cinnamon
Two teaspoons ground ginger
One teaspoon cloves
One teaspoon of nuts
Four tablespoons of honey
3-4 tablespoons of cocoa
Mix flour, cocoa, baking powder, and spices in a big bowl and add the whipped egg, butter, honey, and powdered sugar. Knead the dough. Cover the obtained mixture with transparent foil and leave to warm for about 30 minutes to 1 hour. Then roll it and remove the biscuits with molds of various shapes.
Put the cookies on a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake them at 160-180'C for about 10-15 minutes. Remove the cookies and transfer them immediately to the oven grate to cool.
