On the priority section Smokovac-Uvač-Mateševo of the Bar-Boljare highway, the Bemax company has so far created 8.6 kilometers of tunnels. Bemax is the largest subcontractor to the main contractor, Chinese company CRBC and is assigned to various types of highway sections

On the priority section Bemax is constructing four tunnels, seven bridges, two overpasses, support structures from reinforced soil and other various structures. Bemax has set up three cement factories in Gornje Mrke, Pelev Brijeg and Duške, as Café del Montenegro reported on April 8, 2018.

The company is scheduled to create almost 11 kilometers of tunnels in both tubes. On the Suka tunnel, the first on the priority section from Podgorica to Kolašin, Bemax has so far bored a thousand meters. The total length of both tubes of this tunnel is 1,920 meters, and Bemax expects the tubes to be complete by the beginning of May. The Vežešnik tunnel, the second in line, is currently 3,563 meters long. The length of both tubes of this tunnel will be 4,845 meters. Concrete coating on this tunnel has already begun.

Bemax completed in December of last year the Mrke tunnel, with total length of 1,583 meters. Works on this tunnel began in December of 2016. The tunnel is set to connect to Moračica bridge. Currently this tunnel is being coated with concrete. Bemax is also set to build half of the Vjeternik tunnel, the largest object on the highway along with Moračica bridge. Out of the total 2,923 meters of the Vjeternik tunnel, which Bemax is constructing from the northern side, so far 2,394 meters are complete.

This tunnel is seventh on the priority section, and the total length of the left tube of this tunnel is 3,016 meters, and the right 2,830 meters. Concrete and armouring works on the coating of this tunnel began last year. Bemax uses five sets of tunnel drilling equipment, with a separate crew for each tunnel, while Vežešnik, due to its length, is being constructed from both sides at the same time.

Concrete coating works in tunnels are in full swing. As for those works, Bemax uses 13 tunnel casings.

The company is also working on the Mrke bridge, whose left bridge is 296 meters long, just like the right one. They are also constructing Đurićev Laz bridge, 352 and 324 meters long. The Ratkov Laz bridge is the same length as the previous one, while the Lutovo left bridge is 212 meters long and the right one only 28 meters.

The Pelev Brijeg bridge will be 100 meters long, the Preljubovica and Kisjelica overpasses will be 52 meters each, while the Suvovara left bridge will be 184 meters long, and the right 240 meters. The Krkor left bridge is set at 334 meters and the right at 290 meters.

Bemax states that completion of all bridge works is currently at 40 percent.

The bridges will be constructed in two ways. The span on all bridges except Krkor will be made with classic scaffolding, while Krkor will need the use of a movable scaffolding system, due to its shape.

Bemax is also constructing piles on Section 4 on bridges Uvač and Jabuka, on the overpass and bridge Preslo as well as support walls Jabuka and Uvač 4. The total number of piles exceeds 350, at 1,2 and 1,5 meters in length. All works are in line with the highest ecological standards. Piles are complete on bridges Jabuka and Uvač 4 and the overpass and bridge Preslo (around 330 piles).
