According to WIIW, the global trend of growth will continue which would result in the acquisition of profit by the countries in Central and Eastern Europe.

The Economic Institute in Vienna (WIIW) expects us to witness a significantly rapid growth of the economy in countries in the Western Balkans in relation to the previous years.

“Central and Eastern Europe are now in a significant economic ascending trend," stated a press conference held about the spring’s forecast presentation.

It was stated that the economies from this region expanded during last year for the first time in the previous decade, announced Biznis.ba.

“The banking system is now powerful, more than it has ever been in the past few years," estimated the experts, adding that the risks could be a possible trading war as well as the global withdrawal of “looser” monetary politics.

The global trend of growth will continue which would result in the acquisition of profit by the countries in Central and Eastern Europe.

A growth of 3,1 percent is predicted for the whole region.

Especially high growth from this year is predicted for the countries in the Central and Eastern European members of the EU, as well as Turkey.

WIIW estimates that the growth in 11 new members of the EU will be 3,9 percent, while in Turkey 4,5 percent.

WIIW states that the countries in the Western Balkans will also have a significant increase concerning the previous years.

Russia and Ukraine will have significantly smaller growth, i.e. Russia will have only 1,8 percent growth during this year and Ukraine 1,9 percent.
