Montenegro Participates at the International Fair of Tourism in Moscow

The Montenegrin delegation is led by the director of NTO MNE Zeljka Radak Kukavicic who will have a series of meetings with representatives of Russian tour-operators and agencies.

The National Tourist Organization of Montenegro and the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism, in collaboration with the Embassy of Montenegro in Russia, local tourist organizations, strategic partners and other tourist companies, presented the country’s tourist offer at the most significant fair of tourism in Russia, MITT 2018 (Moscow International Travel &Tourism Exhibition), which takes place from March 13 to 15 in Moscow.

The Montenegrin delegation is led by the director of NTO MNE Zeljka Radak Kukavicic who will have a series of meetings with representatives of Russian tour-operators and agencies.

“It is anticipated that the fair will be visited by over 20.000 professional agents, managers and other participants in tourism, as well as a great number of media representatives from nearly 90 regions of the Russian Federation," said NTO.

Tourists from Russia are the most common tourists in Montenegro, and from year to year there is an increasing trend of Montenegro as a favorite destination for the Russian tourists.

“In the last ten years, there is a constant growth of tourist turnover from this market, e.g. the number of tourists and overnight stays in the year 2017 have doubled compared to 2010. The average total amount spent by Russian tourists who visited Montenegro during the season in 2017 (from June to September) was 832.11 euro, according to research by the Guest Survey conducted by NTO MNE, and the average daily costs were 104.11 euros," said NTO.

The national airline company “Montenegro Airlines” announced an increased number of flights from Moscow and Saint Petersburg to Tivat this year, in the period from March 25 to October 28. Apart from having more flights in the pre-season and post-season, “Montenegro Airlines” will have at least three flights on a daily basis for these destinations, from June 1 to September 30. 

Also, 10 Russian airline companies announced additional flights in the summer, from May 26 to September 30 besides the existing ones.

The most important tour-operators which include Montenegro as part of their offers are “R Tours Company”, “TUI Russia”, “Annex Tour”, “Biblio Globus”, “Pax”, “TEZ Tour”, “Coral Travel”, “Intourist-Thomas Cook” and “Balkan”. On A basis of shown interests so far, there are high expectations for a productive upcoming season and AN increase of tourists from this country.

“Russian tourists are known for their late bookings, but also for the fact that they have been arriving individually as of late. Guests from Russia visit Montenegro mostly during the summer months and their main reasons are passive vacations/relaxation and entertainment," announced NTO.

The NTO MNE offer has been jointly presented also by local touristic organizations from Bar, Budva, Ulcinj, Kotor, Tivat, Herceg Novi and Podgorica, national airline company “Montenegro Airlines”, hotel complexes HG “Montenegro Stars”, HG “Budvanska rivijera”, „Karisma Hotels Adriatic”, “Beppler & Jacobson”, hotels “Maestral”, Institute “Simo Milosevic”, touristic complex “Lazure Hotel & Marina”, Apart -hotel “Kuća Lekovića”, “Aqua Park Budva”, tour-operator “R-tours”, touristic agencies “Fly Montenegro” from Podgorica and „Sveti Nikola” from Herceg Novi, and “Uniqa Insurance”.
