November 13, 2018 - In cooperation with partners of the PORTODIMARE project, funded under the EU Interreg ADRION Transnational Cooperation Program, Montenegrin Public Enterprise "Morsko Dobro" is organising the International Conference on Integrated Coastal Zone Management and Spatial Planning of the Sea, to be held on 14-15 November in Hotel "Avala Resort & Villas" in Budva.
The Interreg ADRION project "Geoportal Tools and Data for Sustainable Coastal and Sea Environment Management - PORTODIMARE" aims to design and implement Geoportal - a permanently open platform that provides access to all the information, data and tools necessary and relevant to sustainable development and strategic planning of coastal and marine areas in the Adriatic-Ionian region. "In the project PORTODIMARE there are 11 partner institutions from 6 countries (Italy, Greece, Slovenia, Montenegro, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina), and the leading partner is Emilia Romagna Region from Italy.
PORTODIMARE Conference in Synergy with Blue Growth and Environmental Quality Meetings in Budva
Bearing in mind that Geoportal represents a concrete contribution to transnational cooperation in the Adriatic-Ionian region, the PORTODIMARE international conference is organized as a contribution to the activities of the one-year Presidency of Montenegro with the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative and the EU Strategy for the Adriatic-Ionian Region (EUSAIR). PORTODIMARE will also be held in synergy with the meetings of the EUSAIR TSG1 - Blue Growth and TSG3 - Environmental Quality, which will be held from 13-14 November in Budva," said the Public Enterprise "Morsko Dobro". This company pointed out that within the framework of the PORTODIMARE International Conference there are three panel sessions planned within which experts from the field of integrated coastal zone management and spatial planning of the sea, the representatives of thematic working groups EUSAIR, and representatives of international and national institutions involved in the PORTODIMARE project instruments and solutions for achieving environmental and sea life sustainability will be invited.
"A special panel and poster session is foreseen to present the Geoportal for data, information and tools focused on the coastal and marine area of the Adriatic-Ionian region as the main result of the PORTODIMARE project, while within the third session will be presented good examples of practice and demonstration projects through whose implementation will test the solutions for the implementation of the Geoportal," the statement says.
The International Conference on Integrated Coastal Zone Management and Spatial Planning of the Sea will be attended by a large number of domestic and foreign experts, as well as representatives of state, regional, European and international institutions.
