25 October 2018 - In the past ten years, electronic communications operators invested in the Montenegrin market more than 500 million EUR, reports the Agency for Electronic Communications and Postal Services.
“We can notice that, in the last three years, some of the greatest electronic communication operators have significantly intensified their investment activities and invested around 260 million EUR during that time,” said the report.
The thousandth session of the Council of the Agency for Electronic Communications and Postal Services was recognized as a very successful regulator of the electronic communications market and postal services market.
“During the ten – year long term of office, the Council adopted 58 expert bases for the ministry as well as 166 rule books and other general acts within its competence, all in accordance with the recommendations and directives of the EU. As a result, the regulatory framework in the field of electronic communications in Montenegro is fully harmonized with the regulatory framework of the EU,” as stated in the report.
In addition, the Agency built five facilities for the control and monitoring of radio-frequency specter, main measurement and control center, regional measurement and control center and three remote measurement and control stations in Pljevlja, Rožaje and Kotor.
The Agency supervises the work of registered operators and the audits have shown a high level of harmonization with the Law on Electronic Communications.
