"The total government debt at the end of June amounted to EUR 3.105 billion or 70.1% of GDP. With deposits, the state debt was EUR 2.76 billion on June 30th, which is 62.3 percent of GDP," states the report of the Ministry of Finance.
Compared to the end of March, or the end of the first quarter, the government led by Duško Marković increased its debt by 440 million euros.
"Foreign debt amounted to EUR 2,644 billion, while the domestic debt amounted to 460,65 million. Deposits at the end of the second quarter, including 38,477 ounces of gold, amounted to 344.7 million," says the report of the Ministry led by Darko Radunovic. Domestic debt decreased by nine million, while the external debt increased by almost 450 million. Montenegro's public debt at the end of 2006 amounted to EUR 700 million.
