28 August 2018 - Montenegrin Prime Minister Duško Marković said that the works on the construction site of the Kolašin 1600 tourist resort are making good progress and that the criticisms he directed at the contractors 70 days ago bore fruit.
"Seventy days later I came to the same place. In the past, we were able to conclude that the works did not have a satisfactory dynamics, that they were much delayed taking into consideration the signed contract. Today, I can say with satisfaction that the works are progressing well, that we have good dynamics and that the contractors are engaged in this construction site, that they are responsible and conscientiously working to bring the works to the end," the Prime Minister emphasized during the unannounced visit of "Kolašin 1600".
As he said, the companies Tošković, Tehnoput and the consortium Doppelmayr and Novi Volvoks are fully engaged in the construction process with a satisfactory number of workers and serious mechanization, so the project is going well.
"Of course, this satisfaction is related only to today’s progress. We will, through the Directorate, the Мinistry, as well as directly through my Cabinet, monitor the progress of the project in the future," Marković said.
The Prime Minister said he was pleased with the Kolašin 1600 tourist resort, saying that it has a lot of potential in relation to providing a high-quality winter and summer tourist offer.
"I believe that we will quickly create the necessary preconditions for connecting the Kolašin 1450 ski resort with the Kolašin 1600 ski resort in order to gain much greater potential. We signed a lease agreement with an investor who will build hotels and apartments at this exact location. I believe that Kolašin and Montenegro are getting a new content that will contribute not only to the development of our tourism but also to the entire Montenegrin economy," said Marković.
