July 16, 2018 - There are currently 48,006 guests in Budva, out of which 47,802 are from abroad, which is 15 percent less than last year. The largest number of visitors are from Russia, then Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ukraine and France, said Tijana Kotarac from the Tourist Organization of Budva.

The largest number of tourists opted for private accommodation, i.e. 33,983, which is a significant drop compared to the previous year. Stays at hotel accommodation are at the level of last year and currently it is more than 13,000 tourists.

"Fewer guests this time of year is probably due to poor weather conditions, unlike last year. In addition, the reason is also the World Cup. After its completion, we expect to overcome this famous "July hole" and finally embark on a busy tourist season," said Kotarac.

Regardless of fewer guests in this period, Kotarac believes that this season will be better than the last one.

According to official data from the Tourist Organization, in Herceg Novi, there are 26,395 tourists, which is five percent more than at the same time last year. The season is just getting started, as the summer continues, the accommodation capacities in hotels and households are full, and according to the latest newsletter, there are 6,140 guests in the hotel accommodation, while in private apartments and rooms there are 20,152 guests.

The guests of Herceg Novi are mainly from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Russia and more of them are coming from France, Norway, Germany, Sweden, United Kingdom, USA ...

The significant increase in the number of guests is in line with the trend of the permanent increase in the number of visits from weekend to weekend since the beginning of the year, and the result is, as stated in the TO, improved the marketing of the entire destination.

The fact that the visits to Herceg Novi were considerably better than the last year is confirmed by the fact that in the pre-season, April and May saw about 25 percent more guests in this town, and in June, 30 percent more.

"The collection of sojourn tax is also higher," said Pavle Obradovic, director of the Tourism Organization of Herceg Novi. In June, we marked 30 percent more visits and about 70 percent more payments of the tourist tax. From the beginning of the year to July 6th, around 210,000 euros were charged on this basis, which is about 37 percent more than in the last year. This summer, Herceg Novi is richer from new accommodation capacities because, after renovation, the hotels "Ibero star Herceg Novi" in Njivice and "Play" opened, whose management was taken over by Sports Center Igalo. By the end of the month the first guests, according to announcements, will be accommodated in the hotel "Lazure" in Meljine.

According to the data from Tivat, most guests arrived from Serbia and Russia, and walking through Donja Lastva, one gets the impression that only the Russian language is spoken in this part of the town. Since June 1st, when 1,991 guests were registered in Tivat, statistical data, published every Friday by the Tourist Organization, shows that the number of guests is in constant growth, and the comparative figures from the last year show that the beginning of the current season is better than the previous one. It is better, statistically, and the first half of the current year compared to the first six months of 2017, the number of visitors is higher by 31 percent and the number of overnight stays by 12.

In the last report of the Tourism Organization, published on July 12th, it is stated that in all aspects of accommodation on the Tivat Riviera there are 6.198 guests, which is 17 percent more than in the same period last year. Among tourists, there are 6,101 from abroad and 97 from Montenegro. Most tourists, 5,182, stay in the private accommodation, hotels have 839, resorts 127, and camps 50 guests. There are more and more tourists in Kotor who come by their own cars, airplanes via Tivat airport, buses and through the numerous tourist agencies. According to data from TO Kotor, there are currently over 4,000, which is 15 percent more than the last year.

Since the beginning of the year, Kotor has been visited by over 230,000 tourists. Kotor is the most famous excursion center and when it comes to the fact that over 500 cruise ships bring more than a million tourists, it is clear that this Mediterranean jewel has no competitors. When it comes to nautical tourism, there are fewer yachts, but the number of passengers on them is almost identical to the previous year.

The location of Roman Mosaic records a better visit than last year for two percent. When it comes to price policy, in hotels in Kotor, accommodation prices are similar to last year's. In overnight stays, breakfast in three-star hotels for a single room costs 50, and in a double, 70 euro. In four-star hotels, seasonal prices are very similar, and in a single room, they range from 110 to 195 euros, while for two people it is necessary to spend between 120 and 255 euros. Apartments are more expensive and range from 190 to 255 euros, and in five-star hotels, the price per persons from 150 to 350 euros in the season, or from 300 to 700 euros per person, depending on the room category, the current occupancy, etc. There is no standard for determining private accommodation prices. However, during the season, apartment prices range from 40 to 130 euros, depending on the category, location and length of stay," said Dragana Samardzic, adviser for promotion and propaganda at Kotor Tourist Organization. Kotor has recently received the "Allure Palazzi Bay" hotel, which is managed by the international hotel group Karisma.

On the beaches in Bar, the restaurants are full, and promenades during the evenings show that the season is good. However, how many tourists there is exactly in the town under Rumija is not known because they have just appointed the director of the Tourism Organization. Last week, IO TO Bar named Emil Kukalj at this position. He has replaced Sanja Simovic, who was at the position of acting director of TO Bar from May 4th to July 11th.

On the other hand, the cruising season is great. It was launched by the ship “Marella Celebration” from the British company Marella, which brought 1,300 tourists from Great Britain.

Tanja Novovic from the Public Relations Service, “Port of Adria”, announces the arrival of 15 more cruisers during the season.

"This weekend on the Ulcinj Riviera there were 21,310 guests or five percent more than the last year. These are recorded tourists, while the number of those who did not register was higher. Approximately 92 percent of them are guests from abroad, of which a significant number of tourists have higher purchasing powers," said Fatmir Đek, the director of Ulcinj Tourist organization to “Pobjeda”.

He adds that several thousand of from the total number of tourists are visitors who come to the beaches and vacation at Velika plaza, Ada Bojana and other popular locations in Ulcinj. About 70 percent of those who are staying choose the private accommodation.

Most of the guests are certainly from the region, but trends are changing rapidly. With the reconstruction and opening of a number of large hotels, we have a significant increase in the number of tourists from the Western Europe. This will, most importantly, mean an extension of the season and higher incomes," said Đeka. Although they started late on preparations for the season due to local elections and constitution of the government, he considers that the key things have been done.
