This important jubilee was marked at the session of the General Assembly, where AmCham President Katarina Bulatović reviewed the results achieved over the past decade. "I believe that I can rightly say that the American Chamber of Commerce in the past 10 years has fulfilled its vision of representing the collective voice of the international business community in Montenegro and a reliable partner on the path of the business environment development. Creating a more quality business environment and a stronger social environment, connecting with partners, and developing a dialogue - these are all the challenges we have successfully dealt with," said Bulatović. The performance of AmCham in the last decade was praised by US Ambassador in Montenegro Margaret Uehar, who pointed out that AmCham is the force of the positive economic growth in Montenegro. "I want to praise the American Chamber of Commerce and their efforts to strengthen the cooperation between Montenegro and the United States. Your efforts pay special attention to the exciting potential of the Montenegrin private sector. The American Chamber of Commerce, with its member companies, business development leaders in this market, is an extremely important partner for the overall development of the national economy," Uehar said marking the jubilee.
The American Chamber of Commerce was founded in November 2008. Gradually, by increasing the membership by the renowned companies operating in Montenegro, today it has over 80 members. AmCham Executive Director Dr Marko Miročević pointed out their dedication to creating new opportunities and chances for the entire society.
"Amcham is an organization devoted to development. All of our programs and initiatives, which we have realized during the first decade of our existence, as well as those who will follow the years ahead, aim to the constant development of our organization and to the creation of the new opportunities for our members. Improving the business environment remains a top priority in line with our mission, vision, and values we are dedicated to. In addition, we want to highlight the importance of the contribution of the businesses not only to the economy, but to society as a whole, and to promoting socially responsible business as one of our priorities. Numerous realized activities and new projects that we will soon start in the field of socially responsible business only confirm our relationship to this important aspect of the business in Montenegro," said Miročević.
In order to better represent the interests of its members, the American Chamber of Commerce interconnects them, but also organizes events with decision-makers in Montenegro. For the past three years, they have organized "Open with the Prime Minister" in order to communicate with the prime minister in the direct business challenges, make recommendations for removing the business barriers and hear what the state is doing to improve the business environment.
