July 10, 2018 - Creating a new profile of occupations in the field of tertiary education with the implementation of uniform training programs is a contribution to the adequate preparation of young people for future professional life and work as an important prerequisite for employment, but also creating an educational profile following the previously identified needs of the company, announced the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro.
The project "Cross-border training for Highly Specialized Technicians in Key Enabling Technologies" (HISTEK) officially began its implementation in Montenegro, Italy, and Albania with the main goal of developing and implementing a curriculum for a new occupational profile tailored to the needs of small and medium-sized enterprises. According to reports from the Chamber of Economy, the project was approved and financed from the EU pre-accession assistance funds within the framework of the trilateral program of cross-border cooperation between Montenegro, Italy, and Albania. The analysis of the European Union indicates that in the beneficiary countries the pre-accession assistance of key competencies is not targeted, planned and systematically embedded in existing curricula that through their goals and outcomes shape the teaching and learning process, based on which this program, as the solution, gained financial support.
At the first meeting of the project team, held on July 6, 2018, in Budva, it was determined that the most important project result will be an innovative technical profile of the occupation, while the developed and implemented training programs will be an appropriate set of good practice that will be shared and used in the region. After creating a methodology for analyzing the claims of small and medium-sized enterprises for educational profiles that include the necessary competencies and skills, as well as the analysis of technological needs for the appropriate equipment, processes and suppliers, it is envisaged to create a database of small and medium enterprises that require specialized technicians in specific fields, and the database of existing institutions and programs that provide this type of training in Montenegro.
The reports from the Montenegrin Chamber of Economy explain how the key value of the HISTEK project is the direct involvement of enterprises in the education process and the creation of an educational profile and accompanying training programs appropriate to their needs.
The implementation of this project is initiated by the Ministry of Education of Montenegro in cooperation with ITS Cuccovillo from Bari, Italy, Chamber of Economy from Bari, Montenegrin Chamber of Economy, Faculty of Business of the University of Durres and the Chamber of Economy from Tirana. The European Strategy for KETs aims to accelerate the rate of use of key technologies in the European Union and to make a shift in production and thus stimulate growth and job creation.
