June 23, 2018 - The United Nations Public Service Forum took place in Marrakesh, in the Kingdom of Morocco from 21- 23 June 2018, with the theme of “Transforming governance to realize the Sustainable Development Goals”. By this occasion, Montenegrin Minister of Public Administration, Suzana Pribilovic, participated in this event as a representative of the Montenegro state.
This Forum gathered and allowed Ministers and other representatives from countries that work in the implementation of Agenda “2030”, which was adopted by all governments included by this agenda. Also, participants had an opportunity to discuss transformation and how governments, institutions, and public administration can be organized in the best way in order to achieve the goals of sustainable development.
“The Agenda “2030” is the largest coordinated project of humanity in order to transform our World. In response to such enormous challenges, the only way to successfully solve problems in the modern world is to connect the capacities and resources of the public, private and civil society. Only through dialogue and inclusion of all relevant stakeholders, can we achieve our goal - Efficient public administration that actively contributes to the implementation of the Agenda 2030,” said Minister Pribilovic during the session which covered the topic of Reform in the Western Balkans for the implementation of the Agenda “2030”.
She also stressed that central government authorities must build effective alliances with local authorities in order to coordinate the implementation of sustainable development goals across countries. Therefore, as she noted, participants need to exchange experiences of success from the past, so that everyone can review and reveal the new possible improvements in the future.
“On the other hand, we have to face our own challenges in Transforming Governance in order to achieve the goals of sustainable development and effectively address the needs and expectations of all involved parties. Therefore, I will take this opportunity to emphasize the high need for cooperation in the Western Balkans region and to accelerate the government's transformation and continue the engagement in implementing the goals of sustainable development and the Agenda “2030”," concluded Minister Pribilovic.
