June 4, 2018 - The Polish airline will conduct six flights per week all year with a modern Embraer airplane.
"Passengers from Montenegro will now enjoy the benefits of direct flights to Warsaw, as well as transfer to other destinations within the broader network of LOT which has over 95 connections, i.e., to LOT destinations in the USA or Canada," announced the Airports of Montenegro and LOT.
Flights on the Warsaw - Podgorica route will be performed every day except Wednesday.
The LOT Embraer departure from the Schopen airport in Warsaw is planned for 1.45 p.m., and arrival to Montenegro at 3.55 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. The departure from Podgorica is planned for 4.35 p.m., and lands in Warsaw at 6.45 p.m. Every Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, the departure from Warsaw is planned at 10.25 a.m., with a landing in Podgorica at 12.35 p.m. The return flight to Warsaw is on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, scheduled at 1.15 p.m., and landing in the Polish capital at 3.25 p.m.
Flights to Podgorica will be operated with Embraer 170 and 175 aircraft. Depending on the type of aircraft, the capacity is 70 to 82 seats, along with three available classes of travel-business, economy plus class and economy class.
"Our passengers enjoyed the benefits of a direct line between Podgorica and Warsaw in the summer last year, which was of seasonal character. We have noticed a rise in demand for flights to and from Montenegro which would last not only in the seasonal period. We are happy to welcome passengers from both directions on our flights all year round. It is our pleasure to provide a wide range of opportunities to the passengers from Montenegro offered by LOT's most comfortable regular flights to further destinations in Western Europe, Scandinavia, as well as the USA and Canada. On the other hand, the establishment of a regular line with six flights per week will significantly improve the tourist turnover in Podgorica and the whole country. Also, this is another step towards further empowering LOT in the Balkans. I am confident that, with our new offer, we will meet the expectations of business travelers and tourists," said Adrian Kubicki, Corporate Communications Director of LOT.
Danilo Orlandić, the Executive Director of Montenegrin Airports, believes that this Polish airline company is another one in the series, which after successful seasonal flights decided to set up a regular line to Montenegro.
"This was significantly contributed by our business policy and the stimulating scheme we have for all new companies. It is unnecessary to talk about how important the Polish market is for Montenegrin tourism, and the number of flights which LOT will operate is proof enough of how much interest there is in our country. I would point out, however, that establishing this line is also important for our citizens who will be able to reach many world destinations through LOT. We will continue to expand the network of our business partners and thus contribute to Montenegrin tourism, " said Orlandić.
Flight schedules are designed so that passengers from Podgorica can easily and simply travel to other destinations from the Schopen airport, including those in the United States, Canada, and Western Europe (e.g., Scandinavia).
LOT transfers through Warsaw for passengers from Montenegro include a waiting time of 80 minutes for flight connections to, e.g., Chicago or JFK (total travel time from Podgorica is approximately 12 hours).
