June 03, 2018 - The capital town of Montenegro, Podgorica will be the host of the “Smart Cities and Urban Solutions 2018” conference which will be held on June 6th starting at 9 AM in the main building of the Assembly of the Capital Town. Organizers behind this event are the Montenegrin Chamber of Economy in partnership with the Capital Town and Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark.
Since efficient planning, innovative and smart urban solutions are an important component in the development of each city, this initiative aims to present new technologies through experience and practical examples from Denmark, which is one of the most successful countries in the world in this field, as well as the advantages and challenges in their application.
As noted by one of the lead organizers of this project, in the Kingdom of Denmark, by 2050, more than 6 billion people will live in urban areas, creating many challenges for the planning, development and operation of cities. These challenges call for smart approaches to ensure that cities are optimized for economic activity, energy consumption, environmental impact and the overall quality of life. State of Green company, a smart solution maker in this field coming from Denmark, approaches the whole situation starting off from Danish tradition. They are standing behind the green businesses and green areas and, as they noted, the two largest cities of Denmark, Copenhagen and Aarhus, have both set ambitious goals to become CO2 neutral by 2025 and 2030, respectively. Combining the use of green areas and green business, while approaching the main problem with a traditional solution, it can be done, claims the company.
The main challenge, however, while developing new cities from scratch is to ensure livability, financial sustainability and environmental responsibility. As the State of Green company name, there are six dimensions to a smart city, which are: smart economy, smart mobility, smart environment, smart people, smart living and smart governance. All of these dimensions feature and require high productivity, entrepreneurship, reliable infrastructure, diversity, creativity, sustainable resource management, health and safety issues.
