May 24, 2018 - A Memorandum of Cooperation with the Government of Montenegro should be signed soon. The conditions announced by this US group are better than the received offers for this project. In addition to this unofficial news, the only official information was published by the government at the beginning of May when the Montenegrin delegation, consisting of the Minister of Transport, Osman Nurkovic, and deputy Ervin Ibrahimović, that they were prepared to attend a meeting with representatives of Wexxon in Washington. The Government information states that Nurkovic and Ibrahimovic were to have meetings with representatives of Wexxon from May 6th to 10th this year. The details are not mentioned, and all that was stated was that the American company is interested in intensive cooperation with Montenegro.
The Wexxon Group expressed interest in achieving potential cooperation with the Government of Montenegro on the implementation of projects and activities related to contributing to the improvement of infrastructure, services and economic growth of Montenegro. Financing would be based on the donation, by allocating all necessary resources for the implementation of the works proposed by the Government of Montenegro, with the obligation to carry out all approved projects within the given time period and within the allocated budget. Given that a positive effect on Montenegro's economic development is expected, the delegation travels to the United States to participate in meetings with the Wexxon Group, as well as to harmonize and sign the agreement, stated the Government's information published after the session on May 4th.
It was also stated that the meetings with Wexxon would focus on realizing the potential cooperation with the Montenegrin Government for the realization of infrastructure projects based on donation funds. At the end of March this year, the Government signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Chinese CRBC Company and cooperation for the construction of the Bar-Boljare highway on the principles of private-public partnership. It was then reported that Eksim banka and CRBC, according to their representatives, are ready to participate in the further construction of the highway through Montenegro, i.e., in the realization of the other two sections, immediately after the completion of the priority parts.
