05 August 2018 - During the next week, Kotor will be the artistic center of the region, as it will host some of the most important names of classical music from the world as well as celebrated regional musicians.
KotorArt Don Branko's Music Days are highlighted by the exclusivity of their programs, which this year strongly confirms. For the program, on Monday August 6th, there will be a concert "Three Dives", during which, for the first time in Montenegro, the vocalists Terez Kesovija, Radojka Šverko and Gabi Novak will perform together with a great team of musicians composed of Matija Dedić (piano), Ante Gelo (guitar) and Robert Vrbančić (bass guitar).
When it comes to art music in Kotor, the most recognized pianist of modern classical music, phenomenal Yuja Wang will perform two concerts, on August 7 and August 8, in the concert hall of the Vida Matjan Music School, within the Church of Holy Spirit, starting at 9.30 PM.
Due to their great interest, the organizers also provided free live streaming at the Square of Cinema for the interested audience.
On Tuesday, August 7th, Yuja Wang performs with Leonidas Kavakos, a violinist whom the professional public considers currently the world's leading violinist, recognized worldwide as a virtuoso and artist of unique quality. This concert is rightly called "Musical Titanium" and it brings pieces of Mozart, Prokofiev and Strauss sonatas for violin and piano, as well as violin and piano pieces by Bela Bartok.
The August 8th concert was reserved for Wang and Martin Grubinger, currently the leading multi-percussionist of the world, artists whom audience call “a new Mozart”, plus the fact that he is of Salzburg origin.
KotorArt Don Branko’s Music Days series of great concerts continue with the concert of Emir Kusturica & No Smoking Orchestra, which for the first time perform in Montenegro. The concert is scheduled for August 10 at the Summer Stage at 10 PM.
